{"id":7,"date":"2026-01-29T13:51:43","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T13:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsite.stlucie.k12.fl.us\/purch\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2026-02-05T16:32:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T16:32:29","slug":"about-surplus-property","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/newsite.stlucie.k12.fl.us\/purch\/about-surplus-property\/","title":{"rendered":"About &#8211; Surplus Property"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;]<div class=\"dt-fancy-separator title-left h3-size style-disabled title-color\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><div class=\"dt-fancy-title\">Surplus Property<\/div><span  style=\"background-color:#1E73BE;margin-top:10px;margin-bottom:15px;height:4px;display:block;width:75px;\"><\/span><\/div>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Florida Statute 274.05 allows the District\u00a0have discretion to classify as surplus any of its property, which property is not otherwise lawfully disposed of, that is obsolete or the continued use of which is uneconomical or inefficient, or which serves no useful function.<\/p>\n<p>Once property has been identified as surplus, the Coordinator of Business Services prepares a list of items for the Board to official &#8220;dispose&#8221; at the next regularly scheduled meeting. \u00a0After the Board approval, items are disposed of in any of the following\u00a0ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Listed for sale\/auction on GovDeals (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.govdeals.com\/index.cfm?fa=Main.AdvSearchResultsNew&amp;additionalParams=true&amp;searchPg=Advanced&amp;timing=bySimple&amp;timeType=&amp;sPrice=0&amp;ePrice=10000000&amp;agency=5286&amp;whichForm=item&amp;rowCount=10&amp;sortOption=ad\">GovDeals Site<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Recycled with approved recycling companies<\/li>\n<li>Donated to other St Lucie County agencies, as requested<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assets MAY NOT be given\/or donated by individual school sites or departments.
